What is Visual Stress?
Do you find it uncomfortable to read for any length of time?
Do the words appear to move, wobble or flicker?
Do you get headaches or migraines after reading?
Do you tend to misread words?
The above are all signs of visual stress.
Approximately 20% of the population report these problems when looking at a page of words – even when wearing glasses that have been prescribed for them.
In many cases the discomfort can be reduced by using a coloured overlay / clip on or coloured lenses.

HOW CAN WE HELP?
Firstly it is advisable to have a recent full eye examination to make sure there are no health issues, and the symptoms aren’t caused by other problems such as blurred vision or poor co-ordination of the eye muscles.
We would then advise a visual stress test to establish if a coloured overlay etc would help to reduce your symptoms.
Visual stress tests are available at both our practices, cost of the assessment £60.00
What is included:
You will be given a 30 minute appointment which includes the assessment, an overlay and a follow up appointment to discuss if the overlay is the best option for you.
