For red eyes call us to be seen under the minor eye conditions service (MECS) paid for by the NHS. MECS is an enhanced Optometric service in Essex, provided by Primary eycare Ltd.

Red eyes vary from a minor issue to one affecting your eye sight significantly.
It is always best to seek advised from a MECS qualified Optometrist, we aim to see you as soon as possible depending on the urgency, please call us for advise, numbers at the either end of this page.
We have an excellent interaction with our local eye clinic in Essex near Colchester, if you need to be referred for second opinion, treatment or an urgent appointment, this can be done via the excellent NHS MECS scheme or via secure NHS email direct to the eye clinic. We also offer telephone triage for eye problems, this can at times be done very effectively without having to attend our local practices.
